Victor Stevenson Entrance Scholarship in Engineering obtainable at Lakehead University, 2013

It’s an undergraduate degree level program and is open to those applicants who are pursuing a university degree and career in engineering at LakeheadUniversity. Provided in the field of engineering and by Thunder Bay Community Foundation. Students may not apply directly to the Foundation for this scholarship.

The offer is worth of $6,000. Open to nationals students of Canada (nominated students from Ecole secondaire catholique de La Verendrye, Geraldton Composite School, Hammarskjold High School, Lake Superior High School, Manitouwadge High School, Marathon High School, Nipigon Red Rock District High School, Sir Winston Churchill C&VI, St. Ignatius High School, St. Patrick High School, Superior C&VI and Westgate C&VI) can apply for this scholarship. It can be taken at Canada.

  • About the eligibility:-

The Victor Stevenson Engineering Scholarship is open to applicants who are pursuing a university degree and career in engineering at LakeheadUniversity.

-Applicant must be in their graduating year of a Thunder BayHigh School.

-Applicant must have a minimum overall average of 80% in all Grade 12 credits (includes finals for 1st semester and

mid-term marks for 2nd semester.)

-Applicant must be seeking full-time admission to LakeheadUniversity in an undergraduate engineering program.

-Applicant must have demonstrated community involvement and volunteer activities.

  • About the nationality:-

The students of Canada (nominated students from Ecole secondaire catholique de La Verendrye, Geraldton Composite School, Hammarskjold High School, Lake Superior High School, Manitouwadge High School, Marathon High School, Nipigon Red Rock District High School, Sir Winston Churchill C&VI, St. Ignatius High School, St. Patrick High School, Superior C&VI and Westgate C&VI) can submit an application for this scholarship.

  • About the awards:-

Total offer is of $6,000.

Each school is invited to nominate ONE (1) student for this scholarship.

-The Community Foundation evaluates applicants in the following four areas.

-Each area is weighted as follows:

– Academic performance (30%)

-Involvement in school and community activities (30%)

-Reference letter (10%)

– Essay (30%)

– Only successful applicants will receive notice from the Foundation.

-All decisions are at the sole discretion of the Board of Trustees and are final.

  • About the applying procedure and the Deadline:-

The mode of applying is by post.

The application deadline is April 26, 2013.
